El Salvador Update and Request

El Salvador Spring Break Mission Trip

We had such a great time serving in San Salvador, El Salvador alongside my intern, 10 TTU students, and the MTW Church Planting Team! On the trip, we got to learn more about the history of El Salvador and its people, attend a Salvadorian Church, help students from Central American University (UCA) practice conversational English, and serve alongside Mission to El Salvador preparing food and delivering it to the homeless. It was such an encouragement to have the opportunity to witness what the Lord is doing in the world. Every night we would gather with the MTW missionaries to enjoy an authentic meal cooked for us by some amazing Christian women from El Salvador and to process the day. We would think through the questions: (1) What seemed the same or what looked different to you today? (2) How did I see God at work today? (3) How was I personally impacted today by the Lord or culture? We would also pray together about the things and people we witnessed each day. It was great to be able to spend such a prolonged period with a group of students and be able to enjoy prayer, reading the Bible, playing games, and many more activities. We ended the week with a hike to the top of a volcano which was a great time to enjoy the Lord’s beautiful creation and discuss the week together. It was extremely clear that the Lord was at work in the hearts of our students during and through the trip. Many of our students are now exploring the idea of doing an internship with the Church Planting Team and maybe even serving long-term! Perhaps the greatest highlight of the trip was getting to see our students interact with the students at UCA. They had a wonderful time getting to know the students and connecting with them. In one of our group processing meetings that we had at the end of every day, our students talked about how they were encouraged to do this with students at TTU when they got back.

El Salvador Trip Fundraising Update

We hope to make this an annual trip for our students. Many of the group are already planning for next year! As many of you know, I was able to use credit to purchase the flights in time to make sure that all of our students could go. We are currently $1500 away from having this amount raised. We ask that you prayerfully consider giving to the missions fund to help us cover the cost of these flights. If you feel led to do so, you can give at the link below and type “Ryan Angel” under the “student name” section:
