January Ministry Update

January Ministry Update

January is officially over. Over the past month, I have been able to witness God's amazing work through the lives of students on campus. In this newsletter, I hope to be able to share just a few of the ways in which God had been working in and through RUF as well as provide you with some prayer points.

Large Group: This semester, I have been preaching through some of the minor prophets as I mentioned in my last newsletter. In particular, I have been preaching through the book of Haggai. We will be starting Chapter 2 this week, and so far, I believe it has been edifying for the students. I chose Haggai because of its focus on living not for this world, but the one to come. Please be praying that the Lord would continue to bless this endeavor, that new students would come and that the Lord would continue working in the lives of our students throuh

Small Groups: Small Groups have been tricky this semester. We have had a difficult time trying to find availability for our students. We have a girls group that meets on Tuesday nights and a group for older guys that meets on Thursdays during Dead Hour. I am getting to lead a small group of around 15 Freshmen and Sophomore guys. We meet on Thursday nights at 8pm on campus, and I have greatly enjoyed my time with them thus far. We generally meet and discuss the week's passage in Ephesians as well as spend time praying for one another. Be praying for this group in particular that the Lord would continue to grow these men in their love for Him and that they would grow in their love for one another and others. Also, be praying for our other small groups that we would be able to find times that work and that students would attend.

One on One Ministry: This semester has been full of great one one one meetings with students. During one on ones, I typically meet with students, see how they're doing, and see how I can be praying for them. These meetings are definitely one of the highlights of this job. Please be praying that the Lord would continue to give opportunities for me to meet with students, both Christian and non-Christian, and to be able to point those students to Him.

I don't normally have pictures of one on ones, but one of the students took this (We knew we were being photographed so please excuse any awkwardness)

Sunday Night Fellowship: Sunday Night Fellowship is a time when we get to meet together once a month at Poet's Coffee Shop, sing, and hear a testimony from one of our students. This month, SNF will be February 19. Please be praying that this would be a time wherein students are encouraged and get to forget their worldly problems and enjoy the goodness of Jesus.
