Schools Is Officially Back In Session!

Week of Welcome

Week of Welcome has finally concluded, and school is back in session. To say it was a blast is an understatement! It has been so great being back on campus and getting to connect with new and returning students. In this newsletter, I will share some of the Highlights of the past weeks.

Ministry Team Retreat

We had our annual Ministry Team Retreat August 13-15 before Week of Welcome. During this retreat, our student leaders got an opportunity to learn more about ministry and RUF, spend time praying and laughing together, and help new students move into their dorms. I am excited for this group and encouraged by their willingness to use their gifts to serve our ministry.

Religious Organizations and Churches Fair

TTU hosts an event where churches and ministries get an opportunity to showcase their group and invite others to it. It was so encouraging to see how many students at TTU were looking for churches and ministries to be apart of. We were able to connect with several students and share with them about RUF at Tennessee Tech.

Back 2 School Bash

Instead of a cookout, we were able to host students at a new restaurant in Cookeville called Pizza & Pub. Being right beside campus made this the perfect location! Students were able to enjoy free pizza, play games, and meet new students.

Mix N Mingle

Every year, TTU hosts an event called Mix N Mingle for all Registered Student Organizations. We had a great time meeting new students, giving out merch, and telling others about the ministry of RUF.

First Large Group

After Mix N Mingle, we had our first Large Group. This semester, I am preaching through a series on the Parables of Jesus called “The Stories That Shape Us.” We had a huge turnout, and it was so good to see so many new faces!

Student Highlight

We have a senior student named Callie Hoschette (pictured in the middle below). Although she only transferred to TTU last semester, she is a member of our Ministry Team. It has been so awesome to see how the Lord has been growing and using her since coming to TTU. The other day I saw a new Freshmen student named Kayley who had been at our first Large Group at a local coffee shop. I said hey to her and asked what she was doing, and I was so thrilled to hear that she was there to meet with Callie. Praise God for his faithfulness in Callie and Kayley’s lives!

Partner With RUF

Some ways you could be praying for us:

  1. God has been so faithful in bringing so many new students to RUF. Pray that the Lord would continue to bring more and more students to know Him and grow in their walks through the ministry of RUF at TTU.

  2. Working with my two interns has been so fun and encouraging! Pray that God would continue to grow and use them for his glory and that we would continue to work well together.

  3. Fundraising has been extremely encouraging this Summer, but we still have more to raise. With our growing numbers, ministry expenses are getting higher. Pray that the Lord will continue to bring new people around who wish to partner with our mission to “Reach Students for Christ and Equip Them to Serve.”
