Spring Break Mission Trip

We are going to El Salvador for Spring Break!

This semester, RUF at Tennessee Tech has the privilege of getting to take 10 students along with our two staff members to serve alongside an MTW Church Planting team in San Salvador, El Salvador! We are so excited to take part in what God is doing among the nations by helping this young Church plant make new connections with the community and sharing the good news of Jesus. We will be serving students from the Central American University through ESL and one on one discussions as well as serving alongside a ministry that seeks to show the love of Jesus by serving the local homeless population. This is an exciting opportunity as it will allow our students to see what God is doing in the world and will give them a unique opportunity to see what serving in missions full time could look like. The missionaries who are leading the Church Plant have years of experience in the mission field, but the new Church plant in San Salvador is only around a year old. We are excited to partner with them in this new endeavor. The dates for the trip are March 9-16.

About El Salvador

We will be visiting San Salvador, the capital city of El Salvador. San Salvador is home to around 240,000 people. Here is a description of the missionaries from MTW:

El Salvador is a tiny nation which has seen decades of corruption at the expense of its citizens’ physical and economic security. Poverty is extreme and many Salvadorans have lost hope, looking to their politicians, relatives in the U.S., or Bitcoin, or sometimes other more desperate choices for answers. But their only sure salvation will come from Jesus Christ and we are eager to share this good news!

We are launching a new team to take on this God-sized task. Led by veteran missionaries, the desire is to impact the culture of El Salvador by identifying and training leaders who have a vision to start churches in their communities. The gospel can transform lives and bring hope to El Salvador!

We Need Your Help!

For this to happen, we are looking for people who would like to partner with us and with the Church Planting team by giving to our Missions Account. Flights for 12 people can be expensive. This is where you can help! Being a non-budgeted expense, we are seeking to raise $5,000 to pay for the flights that will take us to and from San Salvador. We ask that you would prayerfully consider giving a special one time gift to make this possible. By giving to this fund, you will be able to join us in taking part in the work that the LORD is doing both in Cookeville through the lives of our students and staff who will be going and in El Salvador. To give, click the link below. For the student name, enter Ryan Angel so that we know the funds will help to purchase our plane tickets. We also ask that you pray for our team as we prepare for the trip and for the team who will be receiving us. Thank you so much! We could not do this without you!
