Spring Semester has Officially Begun!
My second semester as the RUF Campus Ministry Associate at Tennessee Tech has officially begun. We are thrilled to have students back and to continue the work of Reaching Students for Christ and Equipping them to Serve!
I wanted to share with you all a bit about what we will be doing with our students this semester:
For our weekly Large Group Gatherings, I will be preaching through some of the Minor Prophets. Often, the Prophets can seem intimidating to read. This semester, it is my hope that my students will be able to learn from some books that they may be less familiar with and see that the message of the Prophets is just as relevant for the church today as it was for Ancient Israel.

Our Small Groups will be going through the book of Ephesians. This semester, our groups will be divided by gender and age. I will be leading a study with our Freshmen and Sophomore guys, our intern, Jeff, will be leading the Junior and Senior guys, and some of our older female students will be leading the women's groups. We have also included a daily reading plan that will make it so that our students will be able to read smaller passages from Ephesians each day so that when we meet they will have already been meditating upon the passage.
I am also excited for our Student Leadership team this semester. We have added four new students, and we will be spending this semester learning more about RUF's Philosophy of Ministry (POM). The goal is to learn more about what exactly RUF is and why it exists in order that we can make informed decisions as a team and do ministry in a Biblical way.
Thank you for your continued prayer and support of RUF at Tennessee Tech! We truly couldn't do this without you. Here are a few ways that you can be praying for our ministry:
Be praying for our students to grow in their love for the Lord this semester.
Be praying that new students would come to faith in Christ as the gospel goes forth on the campus through RUF.
Be praying for my wife, Charli, and our daughters, Scarlett (3) and Kinsley (1). We are expecting our third little girl on April 1. Pray that the Lord would continue to grow and develop this baby, and that she would be born without complications. Also pray that this would be a joyful and easy transition as the Lord adds another person to our family.
Be praying for our Student Leadership Team as we take this semester to learn more about RUF's distinctives and seek to do ministry at TTU.
Be praying for me as I continue in my studies with Reformed Theological Seminary and pursue ordination in the PCA.
Be praying for continued fundraising efforts. We had a wonderful December wherein the Lord was extremely gracious to us. However, we are still looking for more people to join in our ministry by partnering through monthly donations. If you are interested in doing this, you can join our team through the link below.
In Christ,
Ryan Angel, RUF Campus Ministry Associate at Tennessee Tech University
